a chill day for boo and i - DH had to work all day/evening.
today my little environmentalist told me "i forgot to turn the lights off" and went back to turn off his lamp when we left his room. he also put his cup in the sink and dishwasher (randomly, but that's okay) without any prompting (not that i have ever prompted him to do this either).
started a project linus blanket - trying a new technique of crocheting around the edges. i got a special rotary blade that makes a dashed line cut, and then i use those holes as spaces to crochet into. loving it.
i already have too many yarn projects on my plate, but i needed a "toddler friendly" project - a yarn project easy to put down at a moment's notice. my other ones aren't:
- the koigu scarf. 282 stitches across. and 2 rows of 4 yarn-over-long-X's that are not conducive to meditation.
- the "heaven" mini baby blanket. the yarn (plymouth heaven) is yummy and soft, but the size 15 denise needle is slippery and i feel like i'm going to drop a stitch any second.
- poor sheldon the turtle, who has been ignored for months. too much pattern-reading.
started doing some of the prep-work for the dinosaur bath poncho that i'm going to sew - made a pattern for and cut out the scales, and made my first cut in the towel.
