here are a few of the things i've been working on for arielle's wedding - finally can post now that it has passed.
first, a recipe book collecting recipes from all of her family and friends that were invited to the wedding. since i did the invitations, arielle was working on the invitation list from my computer over the christmas holidays, and fortuitously left her whole excel spreadsheet on my desktop.
for the cover i used ribbon that was originally sent with the bridemaids dresses, and handmade paper that she picked out when we were brainstorming invitation paper ideas. the metallic eggplant paper and moss green paper throughout were also used for the invites.
it was more work than i expected to print out photos to go with the recipes. i cursed for sometime at photoshop and my printer settings to get the colors to come out right. i'm still not sure what the implications are of my printer not accepting/using postscript settings. however, i think it was well worth it - if nothing else, it will be a great reminder of what folks looked like at this time and place, especially the kids.
my favorites were ones in which folks injected some personality. for example, the bratwurst recipe from their cousin in wisconsin is awesome.
