rip it, rip it

last week i went to a sweater frogging party - called frogging because you "rip it, rip it" till the sweater returns to its original pile of yarn. the reason for destruction is probably evident from the picture above. she substituted a yarn that was heavier and springier than what the original pattern called for, and it grew. and grew. and grew.

this is a lot of yarn!

she also cooked a fabulous vegetarian dinner with her CSA farmshare. curried cauliflower soup to start off; rustic tomato tart; fruit 'salad' (a mix of peaches, raspberries, and apples); and french potatoes. the best part - homemade fresh raspberry ice cream. i don't even like raspberry flavoring, but fresh really does make a difference.

the best part of the evening though was the company. folks who come from different walks of life but who all share a common obsession. it seems to get more difficult to make friends as the years go on, but i have definitely found some in this lovely little knitting group.
